DO NOT OVERTAKE TURNING VEHICLE

In Australia, the “DO NOT OVERTAKE TURNING VEHICLE” markers are covered by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, which set the regulations governing the use of roads for heavy vehilces across the country.

Rule 141 of the Australian Road Rules states that drivers must not overtake a turning vehicle unless it is safe to do so. This rule also requires drivers to give way to any vehicle that is turning or about to turn, and to keep a safe distance from any turning vehicle.

In addition to the Australian Road Rules, each state and territory has its own legislation governing road safety and traffic regulations.
